Masseria Chicerro’s name comes from two words: ‘Chicerro’ the Italian spelling of the Slavic word kičero, which the name of the plot of land upon which the house stands. The building itself is called a ‘masseria’ in Italian, which is a farmhouse on a larger estate that allowed landowners and workers to remain close to even the most distant fields.
